An XFL player for the Seattle Dragons had been tested for the virus, and the results are positive.
The player participated in their most recent game against the Houston Roughnecks on March 7 and reported to team medical staff with very slight symptoms.
The XFL already announced that games were not going ahead amid fears COVID-19 would affect players and staff. With this recent diagnosis, the rest of the season is in doubt and it’s almost certain other players will now be tested for the virus.
Other Dragons players are being tested and staff amongst the team’s roster are also self-isolating as a precaution. Hopefully the virus has not spread across the touchline to the Houston Roughnecks and to any other XFL staff or fans.
